THOTS 24-25

All of sudden it happened, my LnD put a notice regarding THOTS 24-25 (Which is our hall Magazine). I didn't see the notice prior but then it was shared in the group, Wait! Did I see my name there? 

Yes, It's my name Sabarinathan Murugan -The Chief Editor. Over the Moon, I never thought that I would be a editor but then i was the chief editor for the maganize. 

In this Blog I would like to share my experience on how the THOTS 24-25 came in a quick span of time. 

The editorial board

How it starts? 

It was started in between our exams, a bit challenging right? No, it was all fun we had, the first time we sat on my room with a note book and last year Thots, adhesh told me that we can have 50 to 60 pages maximum and we together discussed regarding the articles, reminiscence, photos, cabinets experience, poems, etc... 

It took two round table (No table was there) conference for us to get the outline of our magazine. 

Execution Processes.

Planning process done,

Next up we need to collect the articles. For that i took around 5 days for everyone to complete their work. The chairman and Gensec report came out well. Then other secretaries as well. Even i wrote an article on my blogging "The art of Blogging". 

Soup's article, juniors article and poems. 

We thought of making our magazine a diverse one so, it includes Tamil, English, Malayalam, Telugu articles and poems. The Reminiscence article was given by Mr. Jaywant Michael who was the Secretary for Debates and Literary Activities for the academic year 1976-77. 

Time to Proof Reading. 

The articles which we collect needs to proof read. Proofreading made me how to handle a pen without affecting the pages. The articles which i proof read was very interesting and i got to know how the individual used their language on the flow of mind in every single words. I would say those are not a mistake, those were their perspectives for their articles. Everyone has their own style by standardization we are tend to affect one own creativity. We used understand rather than correcting. We can help them to understand. It's like a win win situation. 

Designing. 

Designing an article, First of all i thought it was just Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V but then it was big process, designer need a great patience and creativity. Thank god I got Canva Premium which helped us lot to complete our maganize soon. We fixed a deadline to our magazine but the deadline dies twice. 

Printing.

After the final drafting and corrections. We came out with our THOTS 24-25 with amazing cover page, quality articles and memorable photos. It took 20 to 25 days to complete our magazine. Then it was given for printing. I couldn't touch that physical Baby so far, hoping to get mine soon. 

Acknowledgments

Without God garce, this can't happen, all thanks to mighty god. Then I want to thank my Lnd Mr. Siddarth who gave this opportunity to flourish new journey. Thanks to Soup bhai for my notorious neighbour and great mentor whose support valued the most. Then my dear juniors (AAA) Adhesh, Adithyan, Abhishek without these people things wouldn't move to next place. Then the shadow of our team Bonhoffer who back support meant a lot. Special Thanks to Rufus sir who insist me to write a blog daily which paves the way to this magazine. Thanks to the articles and the writers whose magnificent work make the maganize looks more elegant. Thanks to my batchmates for your memories which flourish forever. My sincere apologies for the mistake we did in the blcok reports (Hope you people will understand). Finally the Readers without a reader a book can't attain it's purpose likewise you people have the prominent role for this magazine.

Snacks and Redbull filled the dustbin of 141. 

Late night sleep? No Sleep for few days. 

Exam was our antagonist for this genre. 

Arranging lasting meeting in professor Balcony and 141. At a point I brought a table for my room to sit. Summer make the scene more worse still manage to finish. Every ending there will a twist and the twist was farewell (Iykyk). Due to some circumstances i can't work on the last two days but then my team did their best. 

The fun and frolics we had was nostalgia. I was worried a lot for my hall magazine rather than my final exams. Midnight Photoshoots, even cabinets won't get that thing. Searching our president photo.

Kovai Dairies 🍃

After a rollercoaster ride in my final days of college, I managed to plan a trip to Coimbatore (Valparai) — a place that refreshes both my mind and body.

It was a four-day trip filled with unforgettable memories. On Day 1 we began our journey in an AC sleeper bus, which unfortunately broke down within 20 kilometers. Although it was unexpected, it turned out to be a moment of reflection, pushing me to think about the importance of mindfulness. We reached our hotel around 12 PM, freshened up, and planned the rest of our day. We visited Sathyamangalam Forest and a nearby river. While driving, it began to rain — and in that moment, I felt the entire ride was worth it.

Day 2 was reserved for Valparai. We rented a car from Onroadz, an online rental service. Around 12 PM, we picked up the car and headed to Valparai, reaching there by 4 PM. We explored the local markets and enjoyed the scenic two-hour drive from Coimbatore. The roads were smooth, and the views were mesmerizing — curvy paths, hairpin bends, hot tea stalls, majestic mountains, endless tea plantations, and a breathtaking sunset. It made me realize how nature finds its own way to speak to us. The people in the region were calm and peaceful, living a much slower pace of life.

Day 3 was all about nature’s grandeur. We visited Athirappilly Waterfalls, Sholayur Dam, and Aliyar Dam — major water reservoirs in the region. It was a three-hour drive filled with experiences: we saw elephants, monkeys, squirrels, and native birds along the way. The cool weather and misty skies were refreshing. In the evening, we visited a nearby river called Kozhakal, where we watched the sunset in complete silence — no crowds, just peace. Later, we went shopping and bought tea powder and chocolates.

On Day 4, we checked out of our room in Valparai at 5:00 AM and reached Pollachi by 9:30 AM. We had an amazing breakfast at Selvam Canteen — a must-try! Then we visited the Isha Temple and explored Coimbatore city, taking a short break at MS Puram. We wrapped up our journey with dinner at Halab Restaurant (rated 4 stars) before bidding farewell to Coimbatore.

These four days were incredibly memorable. The peace I experienced on this trip was immeasurable. A heartfelt thanks to Vaishu, Achu, and Raja for making the trip so special — and a special mention to Chandru and Rahul for their support, which ensured the journey went smoothly without any hindrance.

Let My Soul Settle There...

Ha! Successfully completed my UG in the prestigious institution The Great Madras Christian College. It was truly a life changing experience which broaden my perspectives and achieve more. 

I am very grateful and always liable to MCC as long as i live. There were lot if memories which i need another world to save. The people i met and connected were the true souls. God always lead me in good way. I still remember the first day of my college when i was 17 a school boy who wish to have a happy life with lot of self doubt and curiousity. 

Everything just bloom out of no way. Three years went like a jet. Thanks to all the people who believed me and want me to shine. Thank to people who taught me lessons without the positive and negative I can't get the holistic life in MCC. 

The opportunity with Liberty, you can't get anywhere in India. The student power always unique in MCC. The Selaiyur Hall, selaiyur gate, heber gate, miller statute, Examination Hall, Dean of International program, Department of Business Administration, 210,117,205, Botany gallery, etc.... were the places i wish to have same enjoyment with my fellows (Dream). 

I am very happy that my life lot of leverage from this place. Missing people and saying byee (again) was a heart heavy situation which everyone needs to face. The up's you go, the down's you sow. Don't forgot to remember the past. 

Let me finish this wonderful journey in MCC with all you people, special thanks to my Selaiyur Hall, Department (BBA), Dean of International program for making me a gentleman man.
