Jam Session @141

Today after a long journey to a book release event, i was a bit hungry then cook Maggie and  Tomato soup using my kettle πŸ˜‹, after finishing my dinner we(I, Naveen, Souparno anna) started our jam session in 141.

First they both were seeing some Instagram reels regarding bengali foods which were served in the Bengali marriage. Then I entered into the discussion and started asking about the rituals of bengali marriage. He answered me politely. After the discussion I got to know various things about Bengali Marriage. I had a misconception that every marriage in North India will be considered as North Indian marriage. Then I understand there are lot of cultural differences in the marriage. Bengali Marriage typical have 5 days to complete and there are lot of fun activities, emotional bondings, rituals, attire will be taking place. After a while I started speaking about South Indian marriage how we organise our marriage.

There are many similarities between Bengali Marriage and South Indian Marriage, one among is the Haldi ceremony and there are other differences as well.

Finally, I was happy about the cultural interaction between us which make me understand the marriage system in India and how we are culturally diversed.

The world is very small.....

The world is very small. When I was in long view, Dallas, Texas during my last week in the campus, I decided to buy some gifts for my family so I went to the mall nearby and I was shopping for my family, I went to a candle shop inside the mall where they sell scented candles and other products. There was a shop assistant who helped me to buy certain things in the shop, she was continuously asking me question regarding my visit to the States then after a couple of minutes she asked my "where you from?", I told her that I am from Chennai, Tamilnadu.

She got suprised and suddenly called someone, i was looking at the candles in the shop and again she reached me and gave her phone and asked me to talk. I was anxious and there was a man who was on the phone. We had a conversation for 20 minutes. It was not that big convo, but he told that he was from Chennai and the most interesting twist was he studied in MCC. I was amazed and then realised that the world is very small. I was no one and i don't want to speak someone strange to me but see how the connections build at the end of the convo he said that he will try to come to my dormitory, unfortunately it was my final week so I don't have time to meet him.

At last, I want to confess that the World is very small, across 12000 km from my hometown completely new place surrounded by new people, i got to have convo who was studied in my college during 2000. Right now i just have his contact but it is very precious so me. I could just ignore her and move on to next shop, but something made me to connect with that person, he was very happy, he shared lot of personal experience amd life happening to me (a strange)

Build connection, talk to strangers in this strange world because the world is very small, tiny and one day the most strange world will be the most familiar one.

Paper Boat ⛵

Paper boat.

What a paper boat can do, what makes it floats above the water?
There was a faculties training program held in my college, this incident was shared by my professor during a lunch, where the trainer divide the faculties into 2 groups with 5 members each and gave them some papers and asked them to make paper boats within 3 minutes. He asked me how many you might do? I answered if the group was 5 members then 20 to 25 boats. The trainer started the timer, after 3 minutes group A made 15 and B made 20 boats.

Here is the twist, the trainer ask his assistant to bring a bucket of water, then the trainer drops each boat inside and analysed how many were in good condition and floats. After the test, he announced the result that Group A's  6 and Group B's 5 boats were well enough to float.

And the conclusion, everyone think he (the trainer) just want them to make the boat to understand their effectiveness and progress in their work but he explained the results in a completely different perspective, he told that the paper boats are the students and the bucket of water is their work place, he conclude that rather focusing on the grade and the degree of the students, focus what they need to do to survive, mold them or make them to float in their work place rather sink.

After this simulation, he asked every faculties to focus on the students future by making their boat to float not to sink.

What we can understand from this?
Even though it's a simulation for faculties, i would say, we can use this simulation in our life by achieving our goals without perfection  and just make your goals to float rather than sink.

Let the paper boat floats.......

Curd Rice 🍚

Do you like curd rice?

I love curd rice and it's actually my comfort food.

What is comfort food ?

It is something you can eat anytime without hesitation and bore. I love eating curd rice with chillies, potato fry, chips, etc...The most important thing to eat curd rice is the side courses and how you are eating it.

Curd rice + potato fry 1st time
Curd rice + Chillies 2nd try
Curd rice + pickle 3rd try
Curd rice alone
repeat this process you will finish the food as soon as possible and get good name from your mom.

You can refer thisπŸ˜… in case anyone don't know how to eat curd rice 🍚

Sometimes you won't get any sides, during that time you can just cut a onion and add some salt and chilly powder and mix it well, that's it you can make a side dish within 2 minutes.

Why curd rice is my comfort food, it's because my mom makes very good curd rice, various health benefits, easy to make, goes with any side course.

And the happiness i get while i opening my lunch box and the aroma I get which I can't express πŸ€ŒπŸ’–.

Also Comment what is your comfort food?
