Don't try to be the best IN the world, be the best FOR the world.

'Don't try to be the best IN the world, be the best FOR the world.'Why? Because only 'one' of us can be the best in the world.  But, 'each' of us can be the best FOR the world said by my supreme senior Mr. Jaywant Michael, who is a Selaiyurian and a great professor currently working as a senior lecturer at University of Doha science and technology. Yesterday I got a wonderful opportunity to meet him virtual through the "VISA Program" organized by the Dean of International Programmes.

I initiate the event by the College prayer and the gathering was introduced by Dr. Rufus and then it was hand over to the guest speaker. He did his UG in Economics in 1975-78. Such a great person while he was introducing himself, he started with a smile and mentioned that he is a selaiyurian, that time i got my goosebumps up and the spirit comes out as well. Selaiyurian has their own emotional brotherhood bond without any time period, "Once a Selaiyurian, always a Selaiyurian" he gave us clear guidance and the importance of higher education. His insights on work experience and higher education opened my eye on how to lay my road after my UG. 

Secondly, he mentioned about the true value of one's life is to find their purpose through the options. He explained the importance of strategies making, persistence and building connections. He insisted everyone to build good connections with the professor and the friends who is going to help someway in this small world and the everlasting memories which they leave for you. 

Thirdly, he shared the lovely experience on meeting his friend in the Reunion organized by their batch in Goa, interesting part of the reunion is our hall song (We sang the hall song for the reunion) which was appreciated by them. During the Q&A session I asked a question on the Work experience before joining MBA is mandatory or not. He explained me that work experience is actually help students to gain the practical knowledge and most of the MBA syllabus would be practical oriented so gaining practical knowledge is a value added to the program. 

Finally, we wind up the session around 7.20 PM and then he shared the gathering his LinkedIn profile, he summaries the key takeaways for us and how to use them in real life. He also acknowledged our Principal, Dean IP and Associate Dean IP for their tremendous work to boost our college in every possible way.
