Moonshadow 2025

 

Last year, you guys remember the same blog but a different year MOONSHADOW 2024. Exactly after a year, Moonshadow 25 was successfully conducted this year. After a lot of oscillations and dilemma, I managed to witness my home’s yearly festival and I’m happy that I met my friends whom I missed a lot after May.

The first question people asked me, especially my professors, was “What made you come back to MCC?” Without any lie, I told Moonshadow and Selaiyur, the place where my heart belongs. Wherever I go, my soul belongs to Selaiyur.

                                         

Last year, it was as an organizer, and this year it felt like a guest appearance. The way my juniors conducted the event was wholesome. They drafted the event perfectly with proper time management, and the sequence of every event, one after another, made the audience feel included and engaged.

                                       

                                          

The inauguration began at 7 AM, followed by breakfast, where I had the entire South Indian meal curry dosa, puttu, cutlet, chicken gravy, poori, and my favorite coffee. Happy to see that the Principal had breakfast with a chicken leg.
                                         

Mime, Western Dance, Dance Battle, Light Music, and Western Acoustic kept the outdoor stage lively, while all the LnD events engaged minds in the indoor stage and classrooms. The event engaged both brains and talents together I would say it balanced physical and mental talents perfectly.

                                         

                                         

Every hall participated eagerly; even Martin Hall participated though they had an alumni reunion. The coupons kept the tummies filled. By the time my Barnes Hall friends joined, we shared all our stories so far and enjoyed the evening.

                                            

OGB fever was still there, and after winning the Octivia event twice, people had the grace chance of witnessing it again. This time, many new voices emerged, and some even got a chance to sing for their loved ones. My favorite song was “Vasigara”, which made everyone take out their phones and start shooting videos. It was a mixed mashup of all languages i,e Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and English.

By 6:30 PM, everything wrapped up with the “Sirikkalam Parakkalam” song. The fire ignited the hearts of every MCCian. Those who were in their last year got to witness Moonshadow again, hoping for an even better year ahead.

                                          

The Valedictory happened right after the showdown. The indoor stage was set on fire, and the arrival of the shield felt like a king entering the battlefield to announce the best soldier.
Barnesonites secured the Cultural Shield, Heberians secured the LnD Shield, and the most awaited one the Overall Shield where hard work paid off after years of struggle: Thomasians secured the shield. The happiness in their eyes was mesmerizing. In return, every hall cheered the Selaiyurans with sweet words 

“Marvelously, Fabulously, Beautifully” conducted Moonshadow.
                                     

That night, I felt something new something I hadn’t experienced before. Time is the sweetest enemy, forcing us to leave the place where we gained all our happiness and learnings. Many friends couldn’t come due to personal reasons, and time didn’t permit some of them. Still, I’m proud that I could witness my house festival this year. With all these memories, I can now spend the rest of my days in Delhi.

Selaiyur is not the best place; it is the blessed place forever.
