No, art of writing of an assignment, Is it really needed to write an assignment rather than presenting it. 

I usually ask my professors to give assignment CA 2 as innovative possible (Movie review, case studies, Group Discussion, Debate) but many of my friends wants to play it easy, there was a time where my professor asked to wrote a feedback regarding the CA 2 assignment and our views on the assignment, in that 60% of my class asked for an online assignment where we may either write or just need to upload a document. 

In my view CA 2 assignments are the major component for our course which makes us innovative, bring new ideas by practically applying in the cases and solving real time problems. 

I heard that previous in MCC there was only written exams (three written exams) were professors use that to threat students but things evolved. CA 2 are not just an important component, it makes us to think critically and apply the course practically. 

For instance, i had an assignment on my principle of finance class where Dr. BOB gave us case of a company near by, he brings the financial statements of the company and asked us to do the NVP, IRR and other financial tools to give best solutions for the case. That was a really an interesting problem where he only made us think by going through all our classes, the outcome is, if you understand the class you can slove the problem and get marks for that. This was final assignment where the course had no final exam, this assignment was convert into final exam marks. 

After solved that problem, I had a confidence on solving any real time problems like this and the true outcome of course I felt that day. He gave me 100 marks for that assignment and finally I got 99.89 % in that course. 

Its okay to write exam, but in order to get deep knowledge of a subject, do research, get insights from your professor, ask innovative assignment, demand them that if presenting a paper or attend a competition and won, ask them to put marks for that. Many won't like to write pages, as well many won't willing to do the assignment, but you should be the one who is deciding your marks as well as your knowledge.
